The luxury hotel, founded in 1836, many times enlarged and restructured in the 19th century: the halls of the hotel were richly decorated with stuccos and frescos following the Art Nouveau style and the front of the hotel was festooned with decoration in Venetian style.
After a period in which the hotel was closed for nearly 30 years a restoration and conservation project was made to restore the hotel to its former splendour. New thermal bath Grand Hotel has at disposal 74 romantic Rooms, 23 of them are Junior Suites and Suites. From the ground floor halls you can still today breath in the central European atmosphere and the character of the Luxury Hotels of the Alps in the last century. The traces of Belle Epoque characterises the disposition of the communal halls and their decoration with floral motifs, but one can also admire traces of the older neoclassic decoration on the ceilings in the Sala degli Affreschi. Some of these halls have been equipped for Conventions. The luxurious Ballroom, illuminated by the large windows which look out over the gardens and the valley or by the Murano glass chandeliers and is heated an elaborately decorated fireplace. These rooms once hosted banquets of the elite which at that time frequented Bormio and their spas, the rooms were also once alive with music coming from the galleries. Today it is also used as a Dining room that can accommodate banquets for 150 people. The Spa & Wellness centre Bagni Nuovi of Bormio offers 30 different thermal options and is subdivided into 4 sections, which unite the Grand Hotel Bagni Nuovi to the thermal complexes, that are situated in the surrounding gardens. The entrance for Hotels’ Guest is included in the stay price. It is also open to the public and to children of ages 5 and above accompanied by parents.
