1st day Roma - Orvieto - Deruta - Torgiano
Departure from Rome and stop in Orvieto, positioned on a rock dominating the countryside.
Visit of the Duomo dedicated to the Assunta and St. Patrick’s Well. Lunch at a restaurant with local specialities in the centre of Orvieto. Proceed to Deruta and visit of the town of majolica, known all over the world for the considerable production, that started in the fourteenth century.
You will visit a factory and see the majolica production , where clay meets water and fire, but above all the human hand; these are the important elements that hallmark the creation of the artistic craft pottery.
Arrival in Torgiano and accommodation in hotel . Dinner and overnight
2nd day Torgiano - Gubbio - Torgiano
After breakfast departure to Gubbio one of the most characteristic towns in Umbria enchanting for its medieval houses. The city is well known for the Race of the Candles, without doubt one of the most famous festival in the world: It is celebrated on May 15th , on St. Ubaldo's eve. Visit of the Cathedral, palazzo Ducale and Palazzo dei Consoli. Lunch in a typical restaurant and back to Torgiano. Visit of the Wine and olive oil Museums with wine and olive oil tasting. Dinner at hotel and overnight.
3rd day Torgiano - Assisi - Perugia - Torgiano
After breakfast departure from Torgiano for the visit of Assisi the town of St. Francis, placed on a panoramic position on the Mount Subasio. Visit with local guide of the Lower and Upper Basilica splendidly painted, with frescoes attributed to Giotto, Cimabue and some of their students. Free lunch and in the afternoon continue to Perugia . Visit with local guide of the historical centre with the Palazzo dei Priori, S. Lorenzo Cathedral and the Maggiore Fountain. Stroll among the medieval streets and back to Torgiano for dinner and overnight.
4th day Torgiano - Bevagna -Montefalco - Spoleto - Torgiano
After breakfast departure for the visit of Bevagna, wall medieval village who jealously preserve the old traditions and life style. A visit to the many churches , most of them deconsecrated and the remains of the Roman Theatre, that now houses a wooden paper mill which produces paper using Medieval techniques. Light lunch in a typical that occupies a well-preserved part of the two ambulatories of Bevania Roman theatre. After the visit continue to Montefalco on the top of a pleasant hill (473 mt.) with its enchanting location, known as "The Balcony of Umbria". Medieval town full of churches and frescoes on the St. Francis ‘s Life , famous for the red wine Sagrantino di Montefalco and Rosso di Montefalco. Wine tasting. Proceed to Spoleto , the city famous for the Spoleto Festival , known as Festival of the two Worlds, organized every year between the end of June and mid-July. After that in 1958 Gian Carlo Menotti inaugurates the first edition, the Spoleto Festival becomes, year after year, a center of big interest for the performances of dance, prose and lyrics. Back to Torgiano for dinner and overnight.
5th day Torgiano - Marmore Falls – Narni - Torgiano
After breakfast departure for the visit of the Marmore Falls ( 361 mts high) close to Terni. These falls have been created in the roman period for the irrigation of the fields and for the domestic use. The Marmore Falls have scheduled open hours. After the visit proceed for the visit of Narni with the Rock and its Secret Underground. The Roman used to stock the water in deep stone tanks, when Longbards built underground painted in fresco chapels and the Dominicans used to lock up in prison of the Holy Inquisition people accused of heresy.
Back to Torgiano for Farewell dinner and overnight.
6th day Torgiano – Rome
After Breakfast transfer to Fiumicino airport for departure.
